My copy edits for A Cowboy Christmas arrived. Nice timing with the last Rita book to judge and a proposal due on my agent’s desk. All at about the same deadline. 😯

So it’s burning the midnight oil and then some time again.

Yesterday, I got the good news from my agent that A Cowboy Christmas was accepted and is on schedule for its October release. After the shake up at the publisher with my editor getting fired and them moving their offices, I had to wonder how this would effect me. But Hilary got the ball rolling for me before she was dismissed. So thanks, Hil!

I like little changes because they give me a fresh outlook. Usually. I’m not such a big fan of big changes because often they signal starting over from scratch.

The past two years I’ve had some big changes in my life. One was a pull the rug out from under you change. I was ready to coast for a while. Surprise!

Hilary Sares, my editor at Kensington Publishing, has left the company.

Editors come and go all the time. It’s the nature of publishing. I can deal with that.

So I say good-bye to the editor I’ve liked personally and professionally, and say hello to a new editor. I’ve been assured he’s a great guy to work with. I’ve no reason to doubt that opinion.

Change. It’s the only constant in publishing.

I had a fab surprise waiting for me when I got home from work today. A box with half dozen hardback copies of Pirate Tycoon, Forbidden Baby.

Sure, I knew I’d get a few copies of this first edition. Yes, I’ve been anxiously awaiting a glimpse of the cover.

You see, my heroine is preggers, and I couldn’t imagine how they’d do the artwork and still make it sexy. Well, wow, they did.

I’m just thrilled that the cover gods smiled on me again. Soon, I hope to be able to post the cover on my website. It’s still not up at the various online bookstores either.

But wow, I’m just thrilled to hold this hardback in my hands. 🙂
