Have you seen him?

The official release day for One Real Man is April 1, but it’s been spotted in bookstores already.

First person to let me know (thank you, GF!) was Sharon Long (aka Maya Banks). She found ORM in a Books-A-Million in Texas and took my hot Blue Boy home with her. 🙂

If you spot it on the shelves, comment here so I know!

Happy Easter!

samsonsfirstgroomingToday was Samson’s debut at the groomer. He’s probably been in a car 3 times now. The time he was taken to the pound, the day I adopted him and fetched him home, and today. The groomer said he did really well–never barked or tried to bite, which is good. We’ve been working hard on the random nipping stuff. And mercy, he looks and smells so much better!

So from me and Samson to you, I hope you have a wonder Easter holiday.

New man in the house

I adopted a pet from the local animal shelter on Friday. This is something I’ve been wanting to do for some time, but thanks to Amy Knupp urging me on, I now am a pet owner again.

My dog is part Chow Chow and part Shepherd (we think — Mom was a Chow and dad was a traveling salesman.) After playing around with names, I decided on Samson. It fits him, cause he’s a big hairy boy!

Notable week – plus

It started Sunday, March 9, with the switch to daylight savings time. This little event usually messes up my biological clock for a couple of weeks. I’m one of those who’d be happier if they’d leave it one way or the other instead of this switching stuff.

Starting Sunday, we have a string of religious days celebrated by Christians. Palm Sunday on the 9th. Ash Wednesday on the 19th, Maundy Thursday on the 20th, Good Friday on the 21st, Easter Sunday on the 23rd, and on Monday the 24th, the Canadians note Easter Monday.

Now squeeze these celebrated dates in: Monday the 17th is St. Patrick’s Day. Depending on where you live in the world, it’s either a day of solumn reflection to a Saint, or in the U.S. party time.

Some towns really go all out for St. Pat’s Day. My hometown has a strong Irish influence, and there’s a lot of merry-making going on. So far nobody has gotten the brilliant idea to die the Missouri River green. But it’s a day to dress to proclaim you’re Irish, eat corned beef and cabbage, and drink green beer. Some do this to the excess of peeing green and passing gas that could level a small town.

Spring comes in either the 20th or 21st. I forget. It could come now and I’d be happy, especially if it brought loads of warm weather. 🙂

We were teased today by the 60s with 70s for tomorrow. Then (the gall of it all!) we could have snow on Saturday. I wish whoever PO’d Mother Nature would come forward and take their licking so this cursed cold weather would go away.

So I wonder what the odds are of having all these holidays/events pile on to one another?

Addiction, anyone?

OMG, Cadbury’s Royal Dark chocolate Mini-Eggs are some kind of wonderful. Ymmmm.
